Three Beautiful Things 02/15-16/08: Low Key, No Dog Park, Sunset at Heceta

1. Presidents Day weekend is the best three day break of the whole calendar year. The days are beginning to lengthen, the school term is at a point where student benefit from a day off, and, best of all, no gifts, no dinner, no obligations, no political/social agenda, nothing. It's a low key, low stakes, low riding holiday and is always rejuvenating.

2. Snug

and I went down to Alton Baker Park to go to the dog park. Snug charged into the dog park and four or five dogs who'd been playing together surrounded him. All seemed friendly. Then suddenly it wasn't so friendly. I stepped right in, giving the dog Snug was either starting to fight with or playing too rough with no attention, focused on Snug's collar, grabbed it on my second try, and pulled Snug away, took him aside (he was calm), and leashed him back up and we left the dog park and walked by the river.

This trail is more peaceful than dogs figuring out their social hierarchy:

I had a moss attack and focused some pictures on this log:

The University of Oregon's famed Autzen Stadium is on the edge of Alton Baker Park:

3. Then Snug and I went to the coast. I posted sunset pictures here, and here are some more:

The moss beats the rumble with the other dogs. You should do a whole series of photos just on your moss pictures. They are so calm and serene.
