1. Our vet, Dr. Cook, wants to monitor Copper's weight about every two months. For several months now, he's been slowly losing weight, even though his most recent blood work looked solid. Copper lost another half a pound over the last 6-8 weeks. I'm going to increase the amount of wet food I feed him. His appetite is good, he's eating all the food in his bowl, and, in fact, I've seen no change in his demeanor or behavior since he started losing weight.
I tend to think Copper is doing what I've seen other of our older cats and dogs do over the years. As they age, they can begin to shrink.
As best I can tell, Copper is not in pain and continues to comfortably follow his daily routines.
2. Christy hosted a PEO brunch in her back yard today. You might not follow my logic here, but I wanted the front of my house clear to make more parking available for Christy's guests. Somehow, this led me to decide, on the spur of the moment, to leave town in the Camry and park the Sube in the driveway.
Every Wednesday is "Winning Wednesday" with some special stuff at the CdA Casino. I went to every Winning Wednesday so far in July and decided to make it a clean sweep and drove down to Worley.
I played for no more than ninety minutes, if that, and I had one of those days where I won a little money on the first machine I played and continued to stay in the black. It was a very modest profit, but I left the casino with a bit more money than I arrived with and so could add some cash to my Pendleton fund! I also had some luck on the Mo' Mummy machine that OWED me after last Wednesday. Mo' Mummy and I aren't quite even yet, but I gained some ground and had a blast playing that machine!
3. I arrived home to a bounty of fresh green salad and later I made a simple dinner of shrimp, pot stickers, zucchini, and rice seasoned with soy sauce. A bowl of food hardly needs to be complicated to hit the spot!
