Three Beautiful Things 08-01-2025: Vicariously Visiting Lake Michigan, Chillin' at The Lounge, Leftovers Wrapped in a Flour Tortilla

 1. It's heartwarming, first of all, to know Debbie is spending time with Molly and her family, with her brother, Brian, and will soon be with two of her nieces and with Patrick and Meagan. Debbie has texted Christy, Carol, and me wonderful pictures of family members lounging around the lake house and spending time on the shore of Lake Michigan. Would I like to there, too? Absolutely. Now is not the time, though, for me to travel for a number of reasons and I accept that. I am happy that Debbie and Brian both send out photos and I can vicariously join everyone in their reunion at Brian's lake house.

2. And, hey! I may not be looking out over the expanse of Lake Michigan and watching sea gulls soar and dive, but I did get to visit The Lounge today. Ed invited me to join him for a couple of beers. I enjoyed a couple of cold Bud Zeros and had a good time yakkin' with Ed and getting in some time catching up Cas. We exchanged some deep analysis of fantasy baseball and Bob told me about his trip to San Francisco to see the Giants play the Pirates.

3. Wrapped up in a flour tortilla, that chicken, corn, black bean, onion, and rice combo I cooked up yesterday made a very satisfying dinner tonight.
