1. The movie "Into the Wild" left me speechless. I went with friends and had to say, "I can't talk. I have to go home. Good-bye."
2. Oregon's speedy, gritty Ducks beat undefeated Arizona State, 35-23.
3. I learned at a division meeting safety presentation that when I come to LCC to work, I shouldn't be worried about getting shot.

I have to read the book and see the movie. I found this link from Outside Magazine:

However, what part was trying to live an "authentic" life and what part was "madness?"
Go Ducks! I even enjoyed catching a portion of the game this time. Husband was glued to it, and even 23-month-old Son ran around the house tossing his football for over an hour during the game (in between sitting in his daddy's lap and cheering the team).
I am stuck on the "authentic" vs. "madness" aspect too. I suppose if I knit my eyebrows really tight, until it hurts, there is no difference. Of course, that act, in and of itself, might explain the lack of "difference." I would be interested in your perspective.
I guess if yer recommendin' this "Into the Wild" movie, I'll take a look at it, but I don't like that Sean Penn feller.
He jus' rubs me the wrong way--not literally, mind you, I mean phys . . . I mean figuratively. I mean, I wouldn't wanna have anyone imaginin' his strong and masculine hands rubbin', um, nevermind.
I will try and go see that film at the cinema when it comes out over here, films always come out in the States weeks before here......
