1. I have officiated weddings in Idaho, Pennsylvania, and Georgia. Not one of those states requires a marrying officiant to be licensed with the state.
Ohio does.
And so I learned Wednesday that from Patrick that I needed to register for a Minister License.
I knew where to find my certificate of ordination and Patrick turned a picture of it into the PDF file I needed and so, online, I filled out the application, uploaded the PDF file, and shelled out ten bucks and PRESTO! I am now licensed to officiate and solemnize Patrick and Meagan's wedding in Cincinnati and anywhere else in the mighty state of Ohio!
2. As you can see in the picture below, Jake, Stu, Ed, me, Wanda, Joni, Patty, and Sue got together at the Longshot in Kellogg in honor of the life of Monte Nickelby who passed away last month. We talked about things we remembered about Monte, raised a toast to him, and also socialized -- told stories, got caught up with each other, and enjoyed being together.
3. Patrick, Meagan, and I jumped on a google video chat and got everything figure out for the ceremony on Sunday, October 26th and I'd say we are in good shape and the ceremony will be just what Patrick and Meagan want.
