Three Beautiful Things 11/29/17: Appliances, Bank, City Limits

1.  After a trip to the Bean for some coffee and to discuss our day, the Deke and I went to Watts Appliance and ordered a gas stove and a counter depth refrigerator and almost ordered an apartment size dishwasher, but we weren't quite ready to pick between the two available. Later in the day, we got everything straightened out with Shawn regarding our sink and now the last order we have to make is for a couple of ceiling fans. Some reading this might wonder -- well, how about the microwave? We gave in when Molly and Patrick were in high school and bought a microwave in Eugene. We gave it away when we moved to Maryland. We didn't have a microwave in Maryland and never once missed it. Mom had a microwave, but when we moved into this house, we gave it away. For whatever reasons, we enjoy life without a microwave and, while we're on the subject, without a television.

2. I made another trip to the bank and made a simple transaction that made it possible for me to pay Christy and Carol for their shares of the house. We have some formalities to wrap up at the attorney's office at some point, but, for now, things between my sisters and me regarding the estate are settled.

3. The Deke and I enjoy driving to Wallace and late this afternoon we went to the City Limits and sat at the bar. I enjoyed two short pours of Sunset Red and ate a patty melt for dinner. We had a relaxing time. All the activity going on in our house -- now it's painting and putting up trim and molding -- wears us out, even though we aren't doing the work. I think it's the fatigue that comes from being minorly displaced. After dinner, we went over to Christy and Everett's and visited for about and hour and returned home and couldn't get into bed quickly enough.
