1. So many plans. So much snow. The Deke and Christy and Carol were going to travel to CdA and Spokane together to have some fun together and postponed their trip for a variety of reasons, but not traveling in the snow turned out to be a good idea. For about ten minutes, before the snow started to fall hard, the Deke and I thought we might go to CdA to shop for some food items unavailable in the Valley, but neither of us wanted to battle the storm.
2. A group of Wallace High School graduates, spearheaded by Rob Gillies, gets together at a different Silver Valley bar every Friday afternoon to hoist a few and yak. This afternoon, Rob and his friends met at the Inland Lounge and the Deke and I went up. Rob was the only Wallace person I knew, but before the evening was over I met some of Rob's friends. We had a blast. Rob had lots of stories to tell about his days at Wallace High School and playing sports and we got caught up about what mutual friends were up to and when we might see them again. It turns out the Wallace group is celebrating a member's birthday next Friday. She got to choose which bar to celebrate at, and, OF COURSE!, she picked the Lounge. I look forward to seeing Rob and whoever else can come next Friday.
3. Back home, I fired up the grill on the gas range, put some butter on it, and cooked a pound hunk of salmon. The Deke and I devoured the salmon with bite size pieces of cooked beets and a helping of cabbage salad, grateful for such a simple and delicious dinner after a peak time of beer drinking and gabbing with Cas, Tracy, Mitch, Randy, Julie, Fitz, Deanne, Harley, Candy, Glen, Liz, the Wallace crew, and a host of other fellow smiling and laughing revelers at the Inland Lounge.
