Three Beautiful Things 07/28/07: Craving Satisfied, Pasta, Crow Horses

1. Of all the crazy things. I've been craving a strawberry milk shake. I had imagined just what I wanted it to taste like. I order one at Dairy Queen. It wasn't quite right. I went to Stone Cold Creamery. Not quite right. Tonight, the Deke fixed strawberry shakes. She combined fresh strawberries with vanilla bean ice cream and milk and the result: the very shake I'd been craving, dreaming of. It was shakegasmic!

2. The Deke is so right: it doesn't take much. Boil up some pasta. Pour some olive oil on the pasta. Chop us some fresh basil. Toss it. Throw some fresh tomatoes on it. Pepper it. Maybe some salt. Grate Parmesan cheese over the top. Simple. Divine.

3. Snug and I went for a drive out to Crow and several people out there have horses and I enjoyed driving by these large ranches with horses lazing around, looking strong and graceful.

We must be connected by some lead experience. I had a craving the other night, up camping, for a root beer float! HA! I was only about an hour from town on a wild mountain road. Nothing to deter a valley boy from his root beer float!

Beer made from roots? and not from hops? roots of what? and what do you put on the top that floats?... are you speaking in code?... or am I missing something here?

Oh, and I forgot to say, I just found the poem in the side bar and your reading of it..... LOVED it.... also what fasinated me and my lad was how so many of your words are pronounced so very different from ours.....if I read the poem it would sounds completely different....

Also, you have such a lovely american voice, it was not how I imagined your voice to be....
