1. I cannot read for enjoyment when I'm sick. Being sick ruins the pleasure of reading for me. Finally, today, I returned to reading and have almost finished "High Fidelity" -- a book I am enjoying and not enjoying simultaneously.
2. Luckily I didn't have to tear the house apart to find Patrick's contact lenses. They were not where he thought they were, but I found them after a short and painless hunt elsewhere. I'll send them to West Point on Monday.
3. Snug's unrattled by the booms, cracks, whistles, and pops of the Fourth of July. Thank goodness. I'm sorry for all the dogs and their keepers who are not so impervious.
