1. Ed and I were seated at a table looking out at the parking lot of the Silver Spoon Restaurant in Kellogg and the waitress asked us how we were doing and I said, "Pretty good, so far" and then Jake walked by the window on his way to join us and I said, "But that's gonna change real quick." She laughed. Real hard. I beamed. Real bright.
2. Mom bought us all pizza from Wildcat Pizza -- one pepperoni and the other chicken Alfredo -- and it was good stuff.
3. We had out the World Book Encyclopedia and every Oregon map Mom could find as Mom, Christy, and I worked on getting the geography and the highways of Oregon's northwest corner straight.
