Three Beautiful Things 12/01/06: The Fall Term Shakespeare Showcase: Shylock, Polonius, Enthusiasm

1. Playing an embittered Shylock and portraying his vengeance and cruelty without a word while Johanna gave Portia's "Quality of mercy" speech.
2. Being stabbed behind the arras and portraying the corpse of Polonius while Sarah and George played Gertrude and Hamlet and having audience members tease me after the showcase that I played a great dead man.
3. Watching the youth backstage as they were laughing at their successes, flying through costume changes when they finished one scene and prepared for the next, and otherwise electrified the air with their love of performing Shakespeare.
