1. InlandEmpireGirl and I met Delta Dawn for breakfast this morning at the Silver Spoon Cafe and had a great time putting our thumbs on the pulse of the Silver Valley and talking about families and work and having some good laughs about all of it.
2. My niece, the Princess, had her birthday dinner tonight and it was an animated affair, what with three nieces and their two cousins having just returned from church camp. They laughed about everything from Alka Seltzer necklaces to Skittles up the nose.
3. Nothing like a little NASCAR controversy to spice up a Saturday afternoon. In today's Busch Series race in Montreal Robby Gordon disagreed with his placement after the race's last yellow flag so he refused to go where he was placed, rammed the race leader, Marco Ambrose off the lead, then refused to leave the track. He claimed himself the winner. Pretty bizarre. It was a road race, not an oval track and it was fun watching these guys negotiate the hairpin turns and the straightaways. The actual winner of the race was Kevin Harvick.

Dang, the one NASCAR event I miss (ran out of beer and didn't think it was appropriate to watch without)and a classic happens. Good Job Robby Gordon!
I watched NASCAR with my dad the previous weekend. I love the races, and since I don't usually watch them here, it was nice having my dad get me "up to speed" on who was driving what and who "we" were "rooting" for. Dad has some pretty strong feelings on who he likes and who he doesn't and why. Pitty the racer who talks through his nose and whines his words. He'll never be Dad's favorite!
