Three Beautiful Things 08/07/07: Cave Lake, White Pines, Farmland

Loaded up Snug in the car today and headed south:

1. The quiet of Cave Lake, overlooked by stunning Bitterroot foothills.

2. The shadowy, narrow highway lined with great White Pines on the White Pines Scenic Drive between St. Maries and Harvard.

3. The bountiful golden wheat and hay fields rolling in the shadows of pine trees between Tensed and Plummer.

A spectacular drive from Kellogg to St. Maries to Potlatch to Plummer to Coeur d'Alene and back home again. Lakes, mountains, rivers, farms, pine trees, silos, run down barns, log yards, and solitude.

Nice drive. I love that area. The hunk wants river front property sometime if we can swing it. I loved driving to Moscow that route. Always wanted to go dig for garnets, but haven't found anyone who wants to go with me. . .The hunk only wants to get to the destination - rarely side trips on his schedule.
