Three Beautiful Things 06/04/07: Boilermaker, Vitality, Canon Fix-It Man
1. I was thinking about Snug in terms of social class today and decided that in his unpretentious way of going about things, he is a blue collar dog. Deke heard me ask Snug if he wanted a boilermaker and she laughed long and hard. I really enjoyed that moment.
2. I've been reading great papers again today and tonight. My Literature of Comedy students have really taken to the idea that comedy is a genre of story and poetry that explores what gives life vitality and their work with poetry and Cold Comfort Farm and The Accidental Tourist not only impressed me as their instructor, but uplifted my soul. Their essays have been a source of me feeling more vitality, of feeling more alive.
3. I dropped my camera on a sidewalk at LCC today and it bounced about four times. I cursed. It didn't work. The lens mechanism was fouled up. I brought it home and twisted a bit here and turned the lens a bit there, and that did it! It works! The Deke suggested I change careers and go to work at a camera repair shop. Hmmmm.....

Oh, what a cute picture of Snug, the blue collar dog. And that doggie bath place you take him is kind of like his favorite pub, where everybody knows his name...Cheers, Snug!!!
What is it with us and digital cameras? As Dad would say,"These hands."
I love that pic of snug. . . he's a thinker, trying to figure out what he's thinking. . .
So awesome that your students are expressing vitality in their work. You must have sown it in their hearts, and now it is coming out in their thoughts.
