1. My hopes of reversing my lousy luck were quickly dashed, so I found myself a spot at the bar at 10 a.m. in the Wildhorse Sports Bar, ordered a Bloody Mary, followed by several slow frosty Budweiser (the King of) beers and settled into a late morning and fun afternoon of college football broadcast on television screens wherever I looked.
2. Jake joined me in the Wildhorse Sports Bar and we made fast friends with Duane from LaGrande via the Lone Star State. Duane's wife was playing machines and Duane was pounding down Royal Crown and Cokes and he told us all about the 'Vette he'd recently purchased and, when his wife came to check up on him, she got out her phone and showed us pictures, in living color, of Duane's gorgeous car.
3. I tried one last time to reverse my luck. I failed. I was done playing for the weekend. But, I got to meet the lovely Delise. Delise is the hotel's host and she's the person Ed and Mike call when we are coming to the Wildhorse Casino and it's Delise who rewards us with free rooms for being such fine patrons of the Wildhorse Casino in Pendleton.
